Voluum is a performance marketing tracking platform for media buyers. This integration allows you to see your conversion data side-by-side with your spend and campaign data.
Video guide:
Note:
This guide assumes your traffic source is already set up in Voluum. If it's not, you will need to go into Voluum and create it before starting.
Today we will:
- Create a Voluum Access ID & key to connect your Voluum account to Brax.
- Add a Voluum Traffic Source.
- Put your data to work for you.
Create a Voluum access ID & access key and connect a Voluum account to Brax
- In Voluum, click the gear in the top right corner.
- Click the security tab in the menu across the top.
- Scroll down to the ACCESS KEYS section and click "Add new key".
- Enter a name for your access key, and for security, re-enter your password.
- Hit Save to generate your access key and access ID. Be careful not to leave the page. This is the only time Voluum will display your access key & ID. Please save both on your device to use in step 9. You may also need these if you need to reconnect Voluum to Brax.
- In Brax, click your username in the top right corner, and select Integrations.
- Click
, at the top of the page, and select Voluum Account.
- Enter your Voluum Access ID & Key from earlier and hit save. You have added your Voluum account to Brax.
Brax will now open the Voluum Connection Wizard so you can add a traffic source.
Add a Voluum traffic source

To open the Wizard at any time, click
under Voluum Traffic Sources.
- From part 1 of the Voluum Wizard, start by choosing a Voluum Account. You can connect any number of Voluum accounts to Brax, but keep in mind that you must do so one at a time.
- Select a Voluum Traffic Source to pull data from. Your chosen Voluum Account will determine what sources are available.
- Next, confirm the network type. We use the network's unique dimensions to link Voluum data in Brax. For Revcontent we will use Widget ID. Outbrain uses Publisher and Section ID. Taboola uses Site ID.
- In part 2, Brax will attempt to link your Voluum Custom Variables to the correct parameters. Use the charts below to double-check each parameter. Each network passes in data differently. If Brax fails to set up your variables, please select them yourself.

Yahoo Gemini
*We stopped supporting Voluum for Yahoo sites. The reason is that we could only group Voluum API calls by 3 metrics and we use 2 of those for traffic source & campaign. Yahoo site reporting is unique because it requires 2 additional metrics, "ad_group" & "pubid". - Select a Timezone. We recommend EST. See the FAQ section on timezone below for more detail.
- Choose a Conversion Reporting type. This controls the time & date that you register a conversion. You can choose "Time of Click" or "Time of Conversion". We recommend "Time of Click" because conversions are attributed to when money is spent.
- In part 3, you will be given your suggested Campaign & Ad Tracking codes to put in your campaign settings. Save these to use later. We recommend adding them to your default tracking settings. (link opens in a new tab)
- Finish your setup, or add another traffic source.
NOTE: Be sure that the switch for Voluum is turnedin Brax.
Put your data to work for you
Good job linking your data to Brax. What's next?
Your data will be available in 3 ways, in Calculated Metrics, Rules, and as columns in your reports.
- Reporting data is summed by the dimension you are viewing. For example, in your Campaign Manager Performance Report, it will show the number of conversions by campaign. If you click on a campaign and go to the Publisher Performance Tab, you will see conversions and revenue for that campaign by publisher.
- Calculated metrics let you use Voluum data to create your own metrics. Let's say we want to calculate profit. Add a new metric, and call it "Profit". Use the formula: ( "Revenue" - "Spend" ). Now we have a new metric that is made and updated by 2 other metrics.
- Rules can use any combination of your spend, Voluum, calculated metrics, and network conversion metrics. For more information on rules, check out our other guides for more detail.
These are the Voluum metrics now available:
- Impressions
- Visits
- Clicks
- Conversions
- Revenue
- CTR
- CR
- CV
- EPV
- EPC
- AP
